Notilyze participated in the 2022 SAS Hackathon, making their debut in the manufacturing category. The team has immersed itself in SAS solutions to gain insights into business processes. They collaborated with HAI to develop hai-app.io. Notilyze aimed to gain insights into managing energy consumption, efficiency and product specifications. The team also wanted to test SAS IoT solutions to deal with real time data. Besides the reduction of greenhouse emissions that is a result of the use of traditional energy sources, the business aim to gain insights into managing energy consumption has only become more relevant since Notilyze’s participation in the hackathon. Recent events have shown that energy prices can fluctuate with high volatility due to various circumstances. Optimizing energy usage during manufacturing processes can minimize the exposure of a manufacturer to these fluctuations. Team Notilyze used data from a semi-automated distillation process, which was used to explore business opportunities and gain insights with SAS Event Stream Processing. Team Notilyze used SAS Visual Analytics to discover and visualize insights for the customer. The team developed an add-on for the hai-app using a Kafka queue which facilitated streaming data into SAS using ESP.
