Reading and Writing ZIP Files With SAS

Data files are often compressed to save on storage space. For years, SAS users had to use external tools to work with these formats. But with SAS® 9.4 and SAS® Viya®, you can use built-in methods to read and write these files directly in your SAS programs. Learn how to use the FILENAME ZIP method to read and write file content in the standard ZIP and gzip archive formats.
