Data scientists and organizations have increasingly been interested in taking advantage of open source technologies and algorithms. While SAS Viya offers many ways for integrating with open source, SAS also internally incorporates and enhances various methods with open source roots to ensure that best-in-class technology is readily available in the SAS Viya platform. In this session, the presenters discussed some high-performance methods that Viya 4 has incorporated and will showcase the improvements in these methods from their open source beginnings. Examples include light gradient boosting machine (lightGBM), tabular data generation using generative adversarial networks, fast multi-core TSNE for data clustering and exploration and CSPADE for efficient frequent sequential pattern mining.
