Hello all,

I'm trying to setup connection between unix sas server and my desktop in sas eg. Since local server is not accessible, I managed to use sas connect and proc download to transfer files to sasapp work directory, which is pre-assigned randomly(%sysfunc(getoption(work))). But somehow, I can't use proc download to transfer files from sas grid "sasapp" work directory to my desktop location. I know tasks-download data files can do the same trick but I'm just wondering if there's any other query can do the same trick for automation purpose. Thanks for your thoughts and open for any suggestions.

we often use sftp software to transfer files between  "sasapp" server and desktop. but I'm not really sure how to set up connection in sas eg environment. I read sas sftp access method on support sas but it mentioned nothing on files transfer setup and how to define your source and target set up.

Jay_q,

Take a look at this task and see whether it might fit your needs.  It allows you to copy files from your PC to the SAS server in an FTP-like fashion:

Thank you Chris. I have installed your add-in progragm . It was really helpful. But I'm trying to build a automation process where add-in function doesn't really help much.
