Hi, I was informed that some of our end users got Windows 7 over the weekend - (Oh, joy!) I was wondering if any testing of EG 4.1 has taken place on this. We do not plan to install EG 4.2 for another 4-6 months.

I am currently running EG 4.1 on Windows 7 Ultimate and haven't run into any snags. EG 4.2 has been more of a challenge. You can obtain more information at http://www.sascommunity.org/wiki/SAS_9.2_and_SAS_Enterprise_Guide_4.2_on_Windows_7 and http://support.sas.com/kb/34/569.html. Even using the directions listed above, I have been unable to get 4.2 working. What I had to do is create a Windows XP virtual machine within Windows 7, then install EG 4.2 within that virtual machine. This system has worked flawlessly.

Hi, I was able to install EG 4.1 on Windows 7 by installing NET 1.1 and SP1 manually as well as the C++ runtime libraries using the instructions provided. I haven't had time to give the application a thorough going over, but I will report back.

Some additional info. I installed the redestributables bundles as requested and then ran the "requirements cd" using open folder and clicked on setup.exe using "run as administrator" when the "run in compatibility mode" option appeared, I used that and everything appeared to install correctly. Separately I installed SP1 for .NET 1.1 as described in the system requirements doc. Then I put in the "Install CD" and clicked on setup.exe using the "run as administrator" option. So far, so good. Our plan is to let a few users use it for a few weeks and see what they report back.

I recently learned of the capability of Windows 7 to implement a Windows XP machine in virtual mode - EG 4.1 installs flawlessly using the Windows XP Virtual machine.
