Using EG like the old interface

I prefer the old SAS interface, but like the context-sensitive syntax help of EG. How should I setup EG to most resemble the old interface?

In particular, I understand that I don't need to setup a project (good), but don't seem to be able to get a log file that cumulates all my log output for a given session.
