We have all been in a position where we are in charge of multiple moving parts so I know I don’t have to tell you how daunting it can be to keep up with timelines and due dates. I've mentioned in the past how much I love sticky notes, phone alarms, and calendar events to keep track of appointments and tasks; from work meetings to doctor's appointments, to remembering to pick up dog food on the way home, there’s always a schedule to keep. And, even with the best of intentions, things slip. Not because I’m lazy, not because I don’t want to do something, but because keeping up with everything is a job of its own! In this post I will show you how SAS Law Enforcement Intelligence includes a feature to help solve this problem.

Instead of relying on checklists, personal reminders, or even my well-intentioned memory, the Status Report pulls timelines and task due dates which pull directly from the system and puts them in one place, so crucial tasks don’t depend on someone remembering to set yet another reminder. This control organizes user statuses for an up-to-date report for a user in a supervisory role to see a summary, object status, and schedule of tasks. The best part is that the tasks and deadlines are pulled directly from the solution and don’t rely on the user to set a reminder. Phew!

Let’s start with understanding the three views available. First there is Summary view. This is a quick check-in. It shows summaries by object type and active user. Object type shows which objects and how many objects are overdue, incomplete, or complete. Active user shows how many objects are overdue, incomplete, or complete. Here is an example of a Summary view.

Next is the Object Status view. This is where you see more specific information. It shows object types, status, status value, active user, and due date information. Here is an Object Status view.

And, lastly, the Schedule view. This view shows everything on the calendar like incomplete and overdue items. The schedule can be sorted by object type, status, and user. They appear in month, day, or agenda views making it easy to see what's coming up and what should have already been done, according to the due date.

Here is an example of Schedule view – Month.

Overall, status report views support supervision by removing the manual work of setting timelines and due dates and generating them into a useful feature. SAS Law Enforcement Intelligence Status Report helps supervisors in quick assessments and in staying up to date and informed.
