In the first two parts of this series (links below), we discussed the user’s ability to customize the solution’s screen definition files and how to create and edit a groovy function. The purpose of this article is to continue to discuss SAS Risk Governance Framework and the customizable user experience that it offers.
To review, risk governance describes the rules, conventions, processes, and mechanisms by which decisions about risks are taken and implemented. It is inevitable that institutions experience risk (whether planned or unplanned) as a result of their business processes, and with effective risk governance, organizations can benefit from the changes that risk can bring while minimizing the negative consequences.
Customizing New Business Objects SAS Risk Governance Framework enables users to design personalized business tasks by leveraging custom business objects. As a reminder, some examples of business objects within the SAS Risk Stratum solution are Rule Sets, Models, Analysis Runs, Master Risk Scenarios, etc. If a specific business object is not available or provided in SAS Risk Stratum, users can generate their own custom business objects.
Adding a Business Object to the Navigation Menu After performing multiple prior steps as a part of incorporating custom business objects in SAS Risk Governance Framework, the final step is for the user to add the new business object to the main navigation menu in the user interface (UI) within SAS Risk Governance Framework. The user can then restart the SAS Risk Governance Framework Web Application Server and then verify that the new business object appears in the main navigation menu of the UI.
Outlined below is a summary of the steps needed to add the business object to the navigation menu.
First, the user navigates to DAVTree.bat in the file explorer to open the DAVTree application and run as an administrator. After signing in with the necessary credentials, the user navigates to the following pathway within the DAVTree application from the menu on the left-hand side (see screen capture below). sasdav > Products > SASRiskGovernanceFramework > RiskGovFrwkMid-Tier > rmc > Config > Menus
Select any image to see a larger version.
Mobile users: To view the images, select the "Full" version at the bottom of the page.
In the Config > Menus tab, the user accesses the MainNavigation.xml file by right-clicking and selecting Edit. Then, from the file explorer, the user accesses the code from the MainNavigation.xml file using this pathway: 😧 > Student Files RGF > customobject > MainNav. The code from lines 68-77 needs to be copied from the file (see screen capture below).
The code from above is then pasted in the DAVTree Edit file window between the Analysis Run and Results sections:
The next steps are to restart the SAS Risk Governance Framework Web Application Server to apply the changes and then to verify that the new business object appears in the navigation menu of the UI:
