In the LTS 2026.03 release, there is a new node called Variable assignment that you can use in a decision.  A Variable assignment node enables you to add multiple assignment statements directly into a decision instead of creating one or more rule sets that contain only standalone assignment statements.

In the Variable assignment node, you can assign values to multiple decision variables. Select MK_1_iconVarAssign.png in the Assignments section of the node’s properties to add or edit the variable assignments.

Select MK_2_iconVarAssign.png to add the variable assignments to the node.  Each assignment statement must specify a value that matches the data type of the decision variable.

SAS Intelligent Decisioning validates each assignment statement, and if they are all valid, then the OK button is enabled which allows you to save the variable assignment node.

Note: You cannot set the value of global variables in a variable assignment node.

To reuse a set of variable assignment statements, you can create a decision that contains only a Variable assignment node and then include that decision as a sub-decision where you want to reuse the assignment statements.

For more information on using a variable assignment node in a decision, refer to the Add a Variable Assignment Node documentation.
