Ever wonder what the difference is between a Segment and a Data View in SAS Customer Intelligence 360?

A Data View is essentially a container combining more complex events with an OR statement. Data Views are only based on events. They are often used as metrics in tasks.

In a Segment you can include AND and OR statements along with customer data, session data, and importedLists. They are meant to be reusable rules for your targeted campaigns.

In bulk tasks (email and push) you can only use Segments, not Data Views for targeting.

Hopefully this helps!
