Ruh-roh!! You created a SAS Profile using a non-academic email address, only to discover that free resources from SAS Global Academic Programs —like software and learning portals—require an approved academic email.

No worries! You can easily update your email address on your SAS Profile. Here’s how:

  1. Go to sas.com/academic (Fun fact: You can actually go to any SAS.com page to follow these steps, but we’d love for you to check out our academic programs page!)
  2. In the upper right corner, click your profile icon, then select Edit Profile. Note: If not already logged in, you may need to Sign In first.Picture1.png

  3. On the edit profile page, you can make any needed changes to your profile—including updating your email address!
  4. On the Contact Information tab, click Change Email.Picture2.png

  5. Enter your academic email, then select Change Email.Picture3.png

  6. Check your inbox! A verification email will be sent to your new address—if you don’t see it, take a quick peek in your spam or junk folder. Click the link inside to confirm, and you’re all set!

Important Notes:

  • This won’t work if a profile already exists for the new email address.

  • We can’t merge two existing profiles, so make sure you’re updating the right account.

  • After modifying your profile, it can take approximately 30–45 minutes for changes to be reflected across all servers. So don’t panic if you don’t see the update immediately!
