Question

How can I stop a running Marketing Automation (MA) Selection Campaign?

Answer

Killing a campaign is a bad idea as you risk leaving orphaned processes executing on the operating system or in the database. But if it is necessary, ask the SAS administrator to identify the Process IDs and terminate them directly on the server. Also ask the DBA to ensure no queries associated with that PID are still running on the database.

Comments

Hi Shill, do you mind listing the steps on how to associate the PID with a campagin executed by a user. The Admin Guide recommends restarting the compute tier when the Campaign is stuck. But impacts all users on the system.

thanks,

In a highly critical Production environment, its quite dificult to shutdown the services often to clear the orphaned processess, the weekly restart of the servcies is recommended by SAS. It would be great if @shill can guide us on maintaining the system which could help in reducing the number of Maintenance down times.

Waiting for your feedback.

Regards,

Rahmath.
