SAS IT Resource Management provides facilities for the creation of User Written Adapters (known as Generic Collectors in prior releases of the solution.) In many cases, the data for which a User Written Adapter is created resides in a relational database.
This help aid was written to facilitate ITRM users as they create User Written Adapters where the native data source for which an ITRM Staging Job is being created is stored in a relational database management system. VMware Vsphere is used as the example in this document. The information presented is not meant for production ITRM use and is incomplete. In fact, a production ready version of a total VMware adapter and reporting is supplied with the SAS IT Resource Management solution beginning with version 3.2.
