Several new AI generation features have been recently released to enrich the user interaction with SAS Customer Intelligence 360. Adam Pollachi recently published a post on one of those new features regarding the new Scheduled Journeys AI agent.
The Email task contains an AI agent to help users develop email subject lines. Similar to that feature, released recently are AI agents to help users write both titles and text for mobile push notifications.
The purpose of this post is to introduce these features and describe how to take advantage and use this new functionality.
Title and Text
So how does this work? When editing the content in a Push Notification task you can select the Generate button under the Title text or the Notification text fields to use the new AI agent to modify their content.
AI is here to help you create better titles and message texts to hopefully increase conversion rates and improve customer engagement.
Let’s use the Notification text field as an example. If you start the task by making a new creative, first enter a text statement with the major factors you wish to include. It does not need to be written with excellent grammar. Or, start with a pre-existing creative which means the text field will already be filled in. Next, simply click the Generate button under the Notification text field:
Select any image to see a larger version.
Mobile users: To view the images, select the "Full" version at the bottom of the page.
A pop-up window will appear that provides the current Notification text at the top, and 5 newly AI generated alternatives for your review. Carefully make sure they contain the main factors you want to include:
At this point, if one seems good you can select it and click OK to complete the task setup.
Or, if you are not quite happy with the suggestions, you can click Regenerate at the bottom of the pop-up to generate a new set of alternatives.
In addition, there is another field at the bottom of the pop-up that prompts if you want change anything among the set of alternatives. You can fill in something like “add sunny skies expected” and click Regenerate. The suggested changes and new alternatives:
You can also request to add something like emojis - for a beach or ocean. You can make any kinds of suggestions.
You can request something like do not use emojis - or make the message more formal:
These are just a few examples. You can request changes in many ways and regenerate until you find content you are satisfied with.
By selecting an alternative and then selecting OK, it takes you back to the main edit screen. Now, you can make further changes if you wish! Add a word or modify further as you want.
As a reminder, Push Notification tasks use mobile push notification types of creatives. These creatives contain the content for the push notification messages sent to mobile devices via a mobile app.
It’s important to realize that if you start with a pre-existing creative, whatever changes you make will cause the creative to be resaved (when you save the task). Important to know if the pre-existing creative is being used by other tasks.
Make sure to check the AI generated output and refine as necessary. AI can sometimes produce some unusual results.
Enable AI
Not seeing the Generate button for the AI agent? Ask your administrator to accept the terms and conditions of using AI and to enable the functionality. This is not enabled by default.
Your administrator will use General Settings -> System Configuration -> Generative AI as shown here:
To use the features discussed in this post, the Opt out of content generation must NOT be checked.
