Hi:
The Certification Prep Guide is meant to be used in conjunction with Programming 1 and Programming 2 classes. We cover CNTLIN in the Programming 2 class in Lesson 4. If you go to the Certification web site: https://www.sas.com/en_ae/certification/credentials/foundation-tools/base-programming-specialist.htm... you will see that Programming 1 and Programming 2 are the recommended classes and that the Books/Prep Guide is listed under Additional Training Tools. So the Prep Guide is not intended to be your primary preparation. The students I've had who have passed by just studying the Prep Guide are students who took Programming 1 and Programming 2 earlier in their career and they used the Prep Guide as a reinforcement.

So please clarify for me if you can:

- what is the purpose of the prep book? are any of the materials in the book potential topics on the exam?

- what is the purpose of the exam content guide if it does not list everything in either the prep book or learning modules?

- should the learning modules be enough to pass the exam? (Well, I watched all the videos and I can't really answer any of the practice exam questions, so I would say no.)

There seems to be a lot of inconsistency about what's covered on the exam. Do you represent SAS? Apologies if this sounds rude, but it not being in the 400 page book for whatever reason but it's in modules sounds like a lame response. It really seems like they just forgot to include it or something.
