Hi.

Today I installed SAS 9.4 at the laptop of a customer.

And I tryed to read a MS-Excel file.

I got the next error message:

Your error message does not say anything about any Excel files. It does say that the CSV file you are trying to read is already open by some other process.  Close that process and try again.  Note that to read a CSV file there is no need to use PROC IMPORT as a simple data step can easily read a delimited text file.

Windows 7?

 

Microsoft support for windows 7 will end Jan 14th. I presume that applies in every country.

The hash OUTPUT method will overwrite a SAS data set, but not append. That can be costly. Consider voting for Add a HASH object method which would append a hash object to an existing SAS data set

Would enabling PROC SORT to simultaneously output multiple datasets be useful? Then vote for
Allow PROC SORT to output multiple datasets
