SAS® Viya® Copilot for SAS® Visual Investigator
Prompt Guide: Part 1
by: Cameron Massey on July 22, 2026
Prompts are key to using generative AI effectively. The quality of the output you receive is defined by the clarity and context of your input.
In the SAS® Viya® Copilot pane, you can use natural language to interact with SAS® Visual Investigator, including searching, viewing, and interacting with data and objects, as well as retrieving information or instructions from the product documentation.
A well-written prompt helps SAS® Viya® Copilot understand your intent, return more relevant results, and reduce the need for follow-up questions, making it easier to complete tasks quickly and accurately.
Here you can find some example prompts for some of the capabilities of SAS® Viya® Copilot for Visual Investigator. “Get Help with SAS® Visual Investigator” capabilities are available today for use, while “Search” and “View Objects” are part of the broader conversational experience that is currently in public preview.

Please note: the following is relevant to the standalone SAS® Visual Investigator on SAS® Viya®. These capabilities may not be currently available on all SAS® Solutions that include SAS® Visual Investigator.

Capabilities Covered in Part 1
01  Get Help with SAS® Visual Investigator
