In October 2017, EMVCo released version 2 of its 3-D Secure protocols and core function specifications, which support app-based authentication for mobile devices and integration with digital wallets, such as Google Pay and Apple Pay. Since then, additional updates have been released. Given the speed at which fraud and technology are both evolving, it is imperative that financial institutions keep up.

SAS Fraud Management version 5 and later support the latest EMVCo 3-D Secure protocols through the software's flexible message layout, which empowers users to create and add transaction data fields as necessary. These 3-D Secure fields (data elements) can be populated with client input variables (CIVs). To enable you to use the latest data from 3-D Secure, SAS provides a predefined list of CIVs for these fields.

Read this technical paper to get the steps for using these CIVs and a table of the CIVs for use with SAS Fraud Management.
