Q&A
Is it possible to collect information via email? For example, add a table so that the recipient reviews the information and checks each row and adds comments when required (and we collect this information in a database).
Not at the moment. You will need to set up a landing page and add the link to your email to collect any data. Once AMP forms are available, you will be able to add forms and collect data. More information on AMP will be shared when the feature becomes available in the email designer.
Is email designer part of SAS Viya and if so, how do we access it?
You cannot access the new designer from Viya, the new designer is available only in CI360, with licensing limited to CI360 Email use. The new designer does not require a separate license. If you have the email license you can access the designer, same way you access the current layout manager.
Are new features introduced in Stripo automatically available in the Email Designer or it has an independent new features release cycle?
Although the new designer is based on Stripo, it is hosted separately on our servers for data security so the New designer will have its own release cycle for features.
I don’t know if you explained how the dark mode version is tested.
The new email designer does not have a dark mode tester within, if you have an Email testing license, you can use the email Preview option to test your email across different devices and modes, including dark mode.
If I understand well, we will be able to use HTM script and d$rag and drop block with email designer?
Yes, you can customize the HTML of your email at any point during creation. The Email Designer also includes an HTML element that lets you add custom HTML snippets when needed. However, we recommend avoiding full HTML builds within the canvas. If you already have a complete HTML email ready, the dedicated HTML editor is the best option for your email.
In what ways can simplifying layouts and reducing hand-coding with the SAS Email Designer improve both speed of production and overall user experience in email campaigns?
You no longer need to worry about using HTML to build complex designs—a process that’s often time‑consuming and complicated. With the new options and features built into the Email Designer, you can create more interactive and engaging emails directly within the interface. Plus, templates and modules let you reuse what you’ve already built, so you don’t have to start from scratch every time, making email creation faster and more efficient.
Is there a feature equivalent to the dynamic asset feature in the layout manager?
Yes, I believe I explained it in the demo as well. The synchronized modules will replace the dynamic assets feature and will be available in the GA release or the production tenant release, which is coming up in a few weeks.
Would it work if I copy the code from my existing template and paste it in the new designer?
We do not recommend copying an entire HTML code and pasting it into the new email designer because the coding structure and CSS classes used by the new email designer are completely different from those in your own HTML and CSS. While the pasted code will still work and render your email as best as possible, if you try to drag and drop new elements within the new email designer on top of the pasted HTML, there may be a clash of CSS codes, which could affect your email’s performance.
What is the current support for AMP with mailbox providers?
AMP is a relatively new technology from Google. Currently, Gmail and Yahoo are the only major mailbox service providers that support AMP, along with a handful of others that are not considered major. Support for AMP is quickly gaining popularity, and we expect to see broader adoption soon.
When will this be available for every CI360 user?
The New email Designer is available in all tenants from March 25th.
Is there a timeframe for when the future planned items will be released?
We do not have established timelines for the new features at this stage, we will provide updates as information becomes available.
