Hello

We have a new Environment being built with a Metadata server cluster  of three metadata  servers on a SAS Grid (5 nodes).

Please can someone confirm the recommended Levn folder structure for this type of configuration as per SAS best Practice..

Should it be for example /opt/sas/config/Lev1/SASMeta1(2,3)/ ?

Should the sas.servers scripts to check metadata, mid tier etc and to perform platform restart/status checks be in the top level Levn folder (not within the SASMeta or SASCompute/Mid folders ). Grid I am assuming uses lsf commands to check the  status on the grid nodes?

Many Thanks

Metadata (and middle tier) clusters do not use a shared configuration directory like the grid does, so the Lev1 path would be different for each cluster node.

Thanks -
What I am trying to understand is how it actually looks in a Linux file path for multiple envs..
Would it be for example :
/opt/sas/config/Prod/meta1/Lev1
/opt/sas/config/Prod/meta2/Lev1
/opt/sas/config/Prod/meta3/Lev1

/opt/sas/config/Test/meta1/Lev2
/opt/sas/config/Test/meta2/Lev2 etc

I am used to a single metaserver env where sas.servers restart scripts are in the levn folder so am trying to understand best practice SAS config for these environments and how to navigate to perform /sas.servers status commands in the command line..

The configuration directory must not be shared, so if /opt/sas/config/Prod is shared among the metadata nodes you would need to separate it out with meta1, meta2, meta3. If /opt/sas/config/Prod is not shared then it could be the same path on each host (/opt/sas/config/Prod/Lev1). The organization is up to you.
