Hi,
I would like to know, what kind of NAS do I need to install SAS Analytics pro without a metadata server?
Thank you.
Why are you posting the identical question found here?
Same class at school?
Edit.
Forget it. Your post shows up a second time in the "Recent Topics" list under the ID of @Madelyn_SAS
Must be a glitch of the forum software.
NAS means Network Attached Storage. Stuff like Synology or Qnap. I know no kind of NAS suited to run SAS.
Any kind of advanced SAS installation has a metadata server at its core, only standalone SAS Foundation works without metadata.
Have you checked the SAS System Requirements? I don't think they would be any different with or without a metadata server. I assume you are referring to SAS 9.4 as SAS Viya doesn't have a metadata server.
If your goal is to have an Analytics server without metadata, and Viya isn't an option either, you could try SASjs Server - https://github.com/sasjs/server
It's an open source middleware over the Foundation SAS executable. It's very lightweight, and will even run in a $6 cloud VPS. Docs are here: https://server.sasjs.io
Today I wrote an installation guide for a fresh cloud machine: https://sasapps.io/sasjs-server-on-vps
