  • 13.45-14.15 Migrating from SAS Data Integration Studio to SAS Studio Flows (Norwegian)

The Seafood Council wanted to migrate its entire data warehouse from SAS Data Integration Studio to SAS® Viya® and a cloud-based solution. Different ways of migrating were considered before using SAS Data Integration Studio as a bank for possible logic and rewriting the jobs in SAS Studio so the result would be similar to in SAS Data Integration Studio. As a final step, we loaded the analysis and reported the data to CAS for further analysis. The process was faster, easier to use, and featured simplified logic. We’ll demonstrate different migration strategies and how rewriting jobs on a cloud-based platform gave increased value and show how the solution was simplified when reading different kinds of unstructured data into CAS tables for analysis and reporting.

The presentation is held by Jan Ståle Lauritzen from Norges Sjømatråd and Trond Holmen from SAS Institute.

  • 14.15-14.30 Pause

  • 14.30-15.10 New Programming Horizons: Enhancing SAS with Visual Studio Code, Git, APIs, and More (English)

Join us for an exciting session to explore new ways to enhance your SAS programming experience. Discover how to integrate Visual Studio Code with SAS for a seamless coding environment, and learn how to use Git for version control and collaboration. We will also delve into the world of APIs and show you how to use SAS with other programming languages to expand your capabilities. Learn new tips and tricks to take your SAS programming to the next level.

The presentation is held by Chris Hemedinger from SAS Institute.

  • 15.10-15.40 Centrality on migration graph, outlining neighborhoods. (Norwegian)

High-privacy movements aggregated into a low-privacy migration graph can help identify neighborhoods and homogenous areas.

The presentation is held by Sten Ruben Strandheim from Telenor

  • 15.40-16.00 Pause

  • 16.00-16.30 Digital Twins in SAS Viya – Capabilities, Applications, an example implementation in SAS Language® - and the answer to the ultimate question: „Why do my children win the Monopoly® board game much more often than I do?” (English)

We want to earn more money than the others. We want to better understand which investment will be profitable and what risk is associated with it. We want to predict how many visitors will "come to us." We want to estimate what impact certain actions will have on our business processes. This sounds very much like the "daily business" and business questions faced by many of our SAS customers.

In this presentation, you will see "Digital Twins“ in action in SAS Viya from different business domains, such as computer vision in production and forecasting and simulation for operation planning. You also learn how you can implement a digital twin for the Monopoly® board in SAS® Viya game using random number generators, SAS Formats, SAS Arrays, Datastep-Loops, SAS Functions and Procedures as well as interactive visualizations in SAS Visual Analytics.

The presentation is held by Gerhard Svolba from SAS Institute.

  • 16.30-17.00 The next level of flexibility in report creation: Dynamic Parameters in SAS Visual Analytics

Parameters have been around for quite some time in Visual Analytics, and they have already made the life of the report author easier. However, some more complex use cases have been either cumbersome to achieve or they could not be achieved at all. The new capability of dynamic parameters opens up a new level of flexibility. We will have a look at some usage patterns of dynamic parameters in a live demo.

The presentation is held by Gregor Herrmann from SAS Institute.
