EG: Possibility to include external programs in several process flows.

Dear all!

There should be a possibility to have piece of sas code included in several process flows. Currently this is actively inhibited by EG (at least as of 8.2) and there does not seem to be a real reason for this restriction ... and yes, there is%include but this is not always applicable in certain setups/environments.

As suggested  the only way to do this is by using a Program node that contains a %include statement. Note though that %include can use a fileref, so you could combine this with a filename statement and use all the  "device types" supported.  This allows you to store your reusable piece of SAS code not only on the SAS server file system, but also in repositories and in cloud storage. See the latest doc for the filename statement on support.sas.com for details. 

 

Thank you for your product suggestion for SAS Enterprise Guide. We are looking at enabling the integration of SAS Enterprise Guide with SAS Viya 4. We don't have any plans for adding any other new features in the foreseeable future.
