Hello,   I am running a proc reg, with options: outest = data_set tableout   I am having a weird problem. In my data-table "Data_set" I have a column "_TYPE_", and it has repeated values for each regression model I run. I only want to keep the coefficient estimates and t-stats in my table, but whenever I try: DATA clean_data; SET data_set; if _TYPE_ = PARMS; if _TYPE_ = T; RUN; I am getting an error: NOTE: Variable PARMS is uninitialized Which doesn't make any sense to me, given that PARMS isn't a variable, it's a value that _TYPE_ takes on. Why does sas think i'm referring to a variable here?   I only want to retain the values in my table that have a row corresponding to PARMS (parameter estimates) and T (t-statistic from my regression), for the variable _TYPE_.   Any ideas? ... Hello,   I'm currently trying to update a single-parameter macro, to two parameters. The reason is that my initial macro creates a data-set, based on a certain summary statistic that I calculate inside the macro.   Now, I want to add a second parameter, that let's me call the macro and create a data-set based on a variety of summary statistics, but I am getting an error.   In my original macro, I have:   %MACRO create_Table1(y); %DO i = 1 %TO 10; *Table 1 Calculate 10th percentile; PROC MEANS DATA = table_&y&i p10 noprint; BY year; VAR var_&y&i ; OUTPUT OUT = stat_&y&i P10(var_&y&i) = var_&y&i ; RUN; *Insert more code that works fine; %END %MEND create_Table1; %create_table(y1); This works fine for me.     Now, I want it so that I can call the macro to calculate either p10 or p50, based on my parameters. I've googled this issue but I am perplexed by what could be causing it on my end.   My code is basically structured like this:   %MACRO example(var); %DO j = 1 %TO 10; * <insert code that works here>; %IF &var=var1 %THEN %DO; * <insert code that works here>; %END; %ELSE %IF &var=var2 %THEN %DO; * <insert code that works here>; %END; *<insert more code that works here>; %IF &var=var1 %THEN %DO; * <insert code that works here>; %END; %ELSE %IF &var=var2 %THEN %DO; * <insert code that works here>; %END; %END; %MEND example; %Example(var1); It's annoying because I had some previous variation of this macro working before, then I tried to add a chunk of something else and a second parameter which made it stop working.. Now I can't even get it to work with one parameter.   The weird thing is that the first %IF-THEN-ELSE statement works fine, it's the second %ELSE %IF statement that gives me the error..   Yet, the structure is exactly the same as the first one? Suppose I have 100 columns, sorted by id and time.   My cols are conveniently named col1, col2, ..., col100.   This seems like a really stupid question, but how would I create a new variable which multiples all the columns, and then adds 10 at the end?   I tried using do loops, but it just confused me.
