Hi,   I inherited someone's code and am perplexed as I'm not sure why it is behaving this way. I'd appreciate if someone can provide some insight. The code is below. Below code is the output of the "putlog" statement.   As you can see, the code is trying out count occurrence of loan IDs in the "modpop_s_EverNev" input dataset, which is captured in the field "prev_mod_count" of the "modpop_s_EverNev_1" output dataset. As the "putlog" statement output shows that this loan occured 4 times, so that is why the value of "prev_mod_count" is 4.   My question is that how is the value of "prev_mod_count" retained across observation when it is not specified in the "retain" statment? I am trying to read a CSV file with commas within quotes, but my code is not reading it correctly. One of the articles suggested that if I removed the DLM="," option, it should work but it didn't do the trick.   Below is the my log (includes code and line with error). Hi,   My code creates an XML based Excel file using ODS. I'd like to format the numeric fields using the format "COMMAw.d". For example, 25431.23 would appear as 25,431.23, if I use the format comma10.2.   I tried various combinations (latest attempt in red font below) but can't seem to figure out. Hi,   By applying a character format, I am creating a character based field. One of the values in the newly created character field is ' ' (single space between quotes). However, when I try to test for this value in an "if condition", nothing seems to work. I have tried applying compress function, missing function. Hi,   I'm creating an XML based Excel compatible file. However, this file is pretty big so the the SAS Output gets full and keeps asking me to clear it. I tried the "noprint" option but it doesn't work. Is there a way to create the Excel file yet not print anything to the SAS Output?   Thank you in advance!
