This suggestion is for an improvement to documentation as much as anything.  It is related to the question I asked in the VA Community here: https://communities.sas.com/t5/SAS-Visual-Analytics/List-Table-Sparkline-vs-Line-Chart/m-p/249380/th...

 

Please can the documentation for sparklines be expanded to explain what the sparkline is doing behind the scenes.

 

Functionality wise could more options be added to control how the sparkline is calculated?

Great feedback, @MarkJones, I know it's been a while. We've noted your suggestions for our documentation team. The sparkline function hasn't changed since your first encountered it, but we are looking into revising it in future releases.

Thank you for your comments, @MarkJones.  There's new background information about how sparklines are binned, as well as a note to let report designers know that SAS Visual Analytics does not provide a way to customize sparklines.  Doc updates were made for the latest SAS Visual Analytics releases on SAS 9.4 and on SAS Viya 3.4.  Here are the updates:
