Hi,

I am trying to map two data sources in a report. One data source is feeding a drop down in the report prompt area while the other is feeding the visual. There is one common field bewteen the two data sets and when I map the two data sources on this field I had expected the drop down to then filter the visulaisation but it is not.

Can anyone suggest what I am doing wrong!

Many thanks,

Jenny

Hi Jenny,

While it is possible to use multiple data sources in a report (as you have found), only data items from the same data source will produce the interaction type filtering you are expecting. (See the text in the first Note at http://support.sas.com/documentation/cdl/en/vaug/68648/HTML/default/viewer.htm#p1bki2z2jxzsoen15hug3...

You might find that you can Map Data Sources to achieve what you want, depending on your data or you'll need to join the tables and loaded it into SAS VA as a joined table.

Kind Regards,

Michelle
