When you use Electronic Software Delivery (ESD) to download SAS Software, it might be necessary to provide server exclusions to allow the ESD process to pass through a firewall. This process is also known as whitelisting.
A qualified network server administrator who manages the firewall should know how to make the IP address exclusions for the server names. The server names to determine IP address whitelisting are as follows.
HTTP

•npc.esd.sasinstitute.net
•esd.sas.com
•ftp.sas.com
•hq.esd.sasinstitute.net
The communication goes over TCP port 80 using HTTP protocol.
