In this presentation, Éric Lacombe offered valuable insights into the challenges and successes encountered during a five-year journey to modernize SAS at the National Bank of Canada. The process was loaded with challenges, myths and significant operational risks inherent to the legacy environment. The talk focuses on dispelling prevalent misconceptions surrounding SAS and the modernization process. It also highlights the architecture and best practices applied to mitigate operational risks, clean the legacy environment, understand and present the business cases and align with stakeholders. By sharing his experiences, Lacombe aims to equip attendees with valuable lessons learned to foster a smooth and successful transition toward a modernized SAS landscape.
