If you are having issues with accessing SAS® Viya® for Learners when launching it or an issue of accessing an application within SAS® Viya® for Learners such as Model Studio (Build Models) or SAS Studio (Develop SAS Code) Please try the following suggestions for access:

First make sure that you are using a recommended browser.  As stated on the SAS® Viya® for Learners launch page, it is recommended to use Chrome, Firefox, or Safari, and the recommendation is in that order.

Second make sure that you are launching SAS® Viya® for Learners from the correct location depending on if you are using SAS® Viya® for Learners with instructions from your instructor (1) or if you are using SAS® Viya® for Learners with a SAS® e-learning course (2).  After confirming that you are following the correct path to access SAS® Viya® for Learners see the Third step.

1. Launching SAS® Viya® for Learners with directions from your instructor:

Use the following link to login to your SAS Profile and access the SAS® Viya® for Learners Custom Learning Portal. Avoid using the remember me option in case of issues. https://vle.sas.com/course/view.php?id=7715

Once you signed in the following should show up and you need to click Launch SAS Viya For Learners 3.5 (Please note that there is a message to bookmark this page for the launch, if you bookmark a page in SAS Drive you will likely eventually have issues logging in):

This will open a second tab as seen below, leave both tabs open.

2. Launching SAS® Viya® for Learners from a SAS® e-learning course:

Use the following link to login to your SAS Profile and access the Virtual Learning Environment. Avoid using the remember me option in case of issues. https://vle.sas.com/my/

Once you signed in the following should show up and you will need to click on the course that you are enrolled in that uses SAS® Viya® for Learners for the exercises in the course under Recently Accessed Courses or Course overview as shown below.  If you accidentally click on the wrong course, you can click on Virtual Learning Environment to choose again.

Once you are in the course that uses SAS Viya For Learners for exercises you will see the following on the upper right-hand side and will want to click on Launch:

This will open a second tab as seen in the example below, leave both tabs open.

3. Accessing SAS® Viya® for Learners:

You will want to wait for the page to load for about 20 seconds or so if needed. Make sure that the icons at the bottom, the icon for chat in the lower right, and folder descriptions and images appear before proceeding with any tasks.

Example of folder description and image loaded:

If the new tabbed page doesn't load eventually try to refresh the tab

or if there is no refresh or sign out option, you can close that tab and try to launch again.  Or if you get an error message that doesn't say to sign out you can also try to refresh again.

Once the SAS Drive page fully loads you can access the other applications that you need to, but make sure that each application fully loads before you select a different one.

If the steps above are not working or if you get an error message that says to sign-out try the following:

1. Sign out of SAS Viya For Learners by clicking on your icon at the top right and clicking on Sign Out:

2. Once you see the following you will know you are signed out of SAS Viya For Learners:

3. Close the tab and click the down arrow next to your icon an email address in the upper left-hand corner of the Virtual Learning Environment and click sign out to sign out of your SAS Profile and the Virtual Learning Environment:

4. Once you have done this, clear your cache and cookies in your web browser:

Google Chrome

Mozilla Firefox

Safari

*If you have a 400-error message, for example 404, it would also be recommended to clear or flush your DNS Cache:

5. Next close out all tabs for that web browser and open a new web browser window and login at https://support.sas.com/edu/viewmyelearn.html

When you have logged in and see My Training click on SAS Viya for Learners under Custom Learning Portals or click on the e-learning course you are using SAS Viya for Learners in under e-Learning to get to the page to launch SAS Viya for Learners.

If you still have issues after trying these above steps, you can also try the following temporary workaround:

Instead of accessing VFL via the VFL Launch Page, access your assigned VFL tenant directly at the following url:  https://v4e0xx.vfe.sas.com/SASDrive/ (each User should enter their own assigned tenant number in place of the xx in the url) (example url: https://v4e036.vfe.sas.com/SASDrive/).  If you do not know your tenant number, please contact us at sasviyaforlearners@sas.com or through the chat icon and provide the email you use for access, time and date of issue and screenshots that include the entire web browser page, tabs and URLs.
