During my session at SAS Global Forum I promised to put a copy of my slides and a link to my paper on the community. I had several conversations with people after the presentation and would love to continue the conversation her. Any updates or comments for improvement would be greatly appreciate.

My paper - "Help! My New Director of Analytics wants to get rid of SAS! What should I do?" can be found here http://support.sas.com/resources/papers/proceedings17/SAS0239-2017.pdf

Slides are attached.

Also there was another presentation that incuded additional information on the topic where the authors approach in a different manner the additional paper "Am I getting the most Value of my SAS installation Dollars? Seven Areas to explore" can be found here. http://support.sas.com/resources/papers/proceedings17/1028-2017.pdf

Comments

I could not tell you how often i have gone into a client where they told me something like: "Put a patch on the SAS programs, because IT will soon be replacing SAS with <insert flavor of the month>".  Six months later i would be back for more patching, becuase they never could find a software that could out perform SAS.

Very topical post. In my experience many IT managers can't see beyond the up-front software cost to rationally compare the functionality of the software tools they are considering.
