What are Custom Properties?
Would you like to store unique information within planning objects, digital assets and share it across business process? Customer Intelligence 360 offers ‘Custom Properties’ feature to define and store customer specific information.
How to configure Custom Properties?
To configure custom properties, follow the steps mentioned below:
- Define ‘Custom Properties’ in a Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet as mentioned in the User Guide (Quick link is here)
- Create three worksheets namely ‘Attributes’, ‘Picklists’ and ‘Dependencies’
- ‘Attributes’ worksheet will contain objects that custom metadata should be associated with, such as digitalAsset, planningObject, workflowProcess and custom properties
- ‘Attributes’ worksheet will contain following columns

| Associated Categories | The categories that are associated with the class | These values correspond to the category types in the 'Categories' worksheet. |

| Description | Custom Properties Field Description | |
| Data Type | What kind of data it is | Example: Text, Integer, Double |
| UI Type | What is the user interface type | Example: Multi-line, Dropdown list, Multi-select, |
| Format | (Optional)Specifies the format for the data type | Example: Currency type - DOLLAR10.0 or DOLLAR10.2 |
| Constraints | (Optional) Specifies constraints on the values | Example: min=–20000;max=20000 or maxlength=150 (for a text field) |
| Default Value | (Optional) Specifies a default value. | |
| Required | Specifies whether an attribute must be set. | The value can be true or false. |
| Search Field | Specifies whether the attribute can be found through a search. | |
| Picklist Values Source | The picklist that is associated with this attribute. | Set the value to the name of the Picklists worksheet combined with the picklist name: Picklists.<picklist name> |
| Obsolete | Specifies whether the attribute or attribute group is obsolete. | The value can be true or false. |
| Ad Hoc | Specifies whether this property is added through the user interface. | The value can be true or false. |
| Dynamic | Specifies whether the custom property’s value is populated dynamically by another product or solution. | The value can be true or false. |
- ‘Picklists’ worksheet will contain predefined values that you want users to fill in fields. For example: If you want users to select from predefined list of brand names, then 'Picklists' worksheet will contain details about all brand names
- ‘Picklists’ worksheet will contain following columns

| Picklist Value Name | The values for the picklist as they are stored in the system | |
| Picklist Value Display Text | The text in the user interface that is displayed for each of the picklist’s values. | |
| Obsolete | Specifies whether the attribute or attribute group is obsolete. | The value can be true or false. |
- ‘Dependencies’ worksheet contains lists of fields in which if a value of next field is dependent on value of a certain field. For example: List of states is dependent on name of the country. ‘Dependencies’ worksheet allows you to define such correlation between two fields
- ‘Dependencies’ worksheet will contain following columns

| Dependent Attribute Name | The name of the dependent attribute | |
| Parent Attribute Group Name | The group that the specified parent attribute belongs to in the Attributes worksheet | |
| Parent Attribute Name | The name of the parent attribute | This name corresponds to a value in the Attribute Name column of the Attributes worksheet |
| Parent Attribute Value | The values that must be entered by the user in order to show the dependent attribute | |
| Table Column | The value of a column in a table-driven worksheet | |
| Operator | The operator used to evaluate the Table Column entry | Valid operators are eq or ne |
- Login to Customer Intelligence 360
- Go to ‘General Settings’ under ‘Configuration’
- Click on ‘Data Sources’ under ‘Data Management’
- Click on ‘Upload Data’ icon
- Click on ‘Custom Properties’
- Browse the file
- Click on ‘Upload Data’ button
- Click on ‘Close’ button
- Under ‘Data Sources’, click on ‘View Job Information’ icon to check the status of uploaded data
