the incorrect number on tool tip seems to be a sas issue with the specified detaillevel statement - I can't work out what it is showing but in the below example it's nearly the arithmetic mean.

ods listing close;
ods html file="sport_sales.html";

goptions reset=all device=java;

data sports_only;
  set sashelp.orsales;
  if product_line="Sports";
  format profit dollar12.;
  format quantity comma12.;
run;

proc gtile data=sports_only;
    flow quantity tileby=(product_group year) /
        colorvar=profit
        /* display less details */
        detaillevel=1
        /* reverse the colors so that blue is highest */
        colorramp=(CXDD6060 CXFFFFFF CX6497EB);
run;
quit;

ods html close;
ods listing;

proc summary data=sports_only nway;
class product_group year;
var profit quantity;
output out=bob2 sum(profit quantity)= ;
