i want for this program sum of salarty how can i get i used so many ways but its getting error .

plz rectify my problem

To begin, you will need to create salary as a numeric variable if you want to get its sum.  Right now your program is creating it as a character variable.  Here's a way to get started:

 

data ds;

infile datalines truncover;

input id $ name $ salary dollar8. ;

 

Then you can try to get sums.
