Hello,

My SAS will always froze when the memory run out(over  53,756 k).I have to open task manager to kill the SAS console.all the work not saved will lose.

I want to know how to config to make memory size bigger for usage of SAS? or how to save the frozen SAS console?

Thanks!

Please define what client you refer to with "My SAS".
Foundation SAS sessions usually doesn't freeze, but it can appear that way if you start a heavy job which requires lots of memory (usually explicit or implicit sorts).

I use PC windows 7 professional ,SAS version 9.4,
but same problem happened on early version for me.
I often double click a large data set to look the data ,I assume this cost lots of memory

Been awhile since I used DMS SAS with large data sets, but if I recall I works ok.

But of course, you should benefit from adjusting your memory settings either way.

MEMSIZE is the major one, you could set to a bit lower than your physical memory.

Also, SORTSIZE is by default very low, set that a bit lower than the MEMSIZE option.
