In case this issue is occurring only in the production environment, please work with your SAS Administrator and investigate the cause. Do look into the program and server logs. If possible, enable the workspace server log to capture the logs for this program.

Hello @freshstarter From what that has been posted it is difficult to ppin point the cause. However, a small change in the format statement "format new_date date9," to " "format new_date ddmmyys10.;" should solve your problem. This can be verified from the code below. option locale="EN_GB"; data test; format dt1 ddmmyys10.; dt1="12JAN2024"d.; run; proc export data=test outfile="/full_path/test.csv"; run; The csv file had the correct format "12/01/2024" irrespective of where you open it (notepad or Excel). I have verified with both 12th Jan and 31st Jan. It works as expected.

But it is not the same as SAS 9.x. Let us not look for 1-1 match between features.

Based on my experience in similar scenarios, the first thing I would do is to check if there is any Firewall rule that is blocking the connection.

Hello The compute server log can give an idea of whats going on. Ask the SAS Admin to look into it. Secondly do create a support ticket with SAS Tech Support.

Hello @Kayalvizhi Ods tagsets.excelxp creates xml files and these are typically saved as .xls. When Microsoft Excel reads these files, it gives warnings. To avoid this you have two options 1) use the xls2xlxs.vbs script (43496 - Convert files created using an ODS destination to native Microsoft Excel files) 2) A better option is to use ods Excel rather than tagset excelxp.

Hello @Mahis Typically, on-premise servers are VM's and these are regularly backed by the infrastructure /storage team. In case of an issue the entire VM can be restored. In my experience with SAS 9.4, if there is a major change, snapshot/backup of the VM is taken and in case of an issue, it is restored. I know for DR testing SAS grid is restored from the backups and works as expected. You can draw a plan in consultation with infrastructure/ Linux Admin/storage teams.

Thank @Quentin for the support. There will always be a resistance to change (Newtons First Law -Inertia). Change will take time. But with a single IDE all development can be focused on only on that IDE and if that IDE is VS Code, the effort can be only be on developing the extension. The others can co-exist as they are. Support/Admin can focus on that one IDE.

While many welcome the availability of SAS EG for connecting to SAS Viya 4 as they see it as a continuity from the past (and carry the historical baggage along with), the availability of multiple interfaces to connect to SAS Viya 4 (SAS EG, SAS Studio, VS Code ) is chaotic and an avoidable irritant for admins. In my experience VS Code has proved it's mettle . When it works for Java, C#, go, python and, C++, Oracle etc., it can work for SAS too as efficiently. It is my humble suggestion that SAS promote VS Code as the official Code editor for SAS/CAS programming and deprecate SAS Studio and SAS EG over a reasonable period of time. This would simplify managing the environment (and make business sense to SAS too!). SAS would only need to focus on extensions.

Hello I am in agreement with @Tom about "No idea how Enterprise Guide decides when to create a MY SAS files folder for a user." IMHO solving this issue requires an understanding of the mechanism of how these files are created (Where ignorance is bliss, knowledge is power).

Hello Your server appears to be connecting to the server defined by authdomain=SQLSVR . Your SAS Admin should be able to provide the details.
