Dear Experts, Regret for posting this question in articles section. I tried to post it in discussions and every time i click post message i get a message that "Not allowed to post content more than once every 120 seconds". I waited for a day hoping that this issue will be resolved, but its the same. So i had no option when i tried to post it here it worked. This is with regard to a scenario where i would like to output special characters alone from the string. consider that we have the following data "james ,thom, son & eligbeth ' samm" the output should have only

HI, Thanks for your response. We have recently migrated by using the SMU from 9.2 to 9.4, how ever we have an requirement to promote only user groups and their roles from 9.2 to 9.4. I am aware of the macros which are available and also i am ware of the fact that from 9.2 we cannot promote users and groups. SO i would like to know from experts is there any other way of doing this? Thanks

Hello, I'm a beginner of SAS. Could anyone help me out? Thank you! Here is a sample dataset. I have data with patientID, year and month. PatientID Year Month K1234T 2012 1 K1234T 2012 2 K1234T 2012 3 K1234T 2012 8 M2350Y 2012 7 I4656Y 2012 5 I4656Y 2012 10 The final dataset I need is, in the final dataset, if a patient has consecutive month, then just keep one record and create earlist month and latest month columns (e.g. for K1234T,min_Month=1 ,max_Month=3).If not consecutive month, min_Month=max_Month=Month for this record. So the final dataset would like: PatientID Year min_Month max_Month K1234T 2012 1 3 K1234T 2012 8 8 M2350Y 2012 7 7 I4656Y 2012 5 5 I4656Y 2012 10 10 Thank you!

Hi, 1. Use a user written transformation and table loader to solve the problem. use the below code in the user written transformation; data _output_; set <your source>; Row_NUM=_n_; run; 2. Connect out put of this transformation to Table loader and table loader to your output data set. Please let me know if you have any concerns. Thanks, Chakra..

Hi Andreas, I think you can use the tasks in EG for moving between frequencies. However, be aware that creating forecasts at the daily level and then accumulate those forecasts the monthly level will not produce the same forecasts as if you are forecasting at the monthly frequency. In order to have forecasts that are coherent at different frequencies you need some mechanism for reconciling them. This is what HPFTEMPRECON does in the frequency dimension. Thanks, Snurre

Hi, First of all, I don't think the standard tasks in Enterprise Guide would help you with reconciliation as the EG time series task only allows you to move from one frequency to another. Reconciliation requires that you have data for both frequencies you want to reconcile. If you want to use point-and-click, one option could be to create a parameterized stored process setup in EG and use this to create your Forecast Server projects using the Forecast Server administrative macros followed by a stored process that does the temporal reconciliation of forecasts created in 2 separate Forecast Server projects. Thanks, Snurre

Hi, In addition to Udos reply, please also bear in mind that if you use PROC HPFTEMPRECON to do temporal reconciliation, the time intervals need to be nested. So for instance reconciling day to weeks is ok but weeks to months do not work since weeks are not nested within months. Cheers, Snurre

Hi All,
Can someone please explain to me the proc means procedure when we have to use by statement.
I can understand proc means procedure when there is no by statement. as it averages acoss all variables. But i get really confused when we have 1 or more variables mentioned in by statement. I don't get if the procedure is averaging across the variables mentioned or across variables that arent mentioned.
Please help.
