About a year ago, the SAS IoT team launched the SAS Event Stream Processing (ESP) trial on SAS Cloud. The trial allows you to explore the capabilities of SAS ESP without the need to install, update, or maintain software or related infrastructure. It includes a number of common use case examples as pre-loaded scenarios for quick start. Over time we are continuously enhancing the trial capabilities.

The present release of the ESP trial includes:

  • The ability to execute Python commands that interact with our ESP server in a Jupyter Lab environment
  • Resources to define and train a machine learning model to be used in streaming projects in a programmatic way using the Jupyter Lab environment
  • The opportunity to use our graphical user interfaces (ESP Studio and ESP Streamviewer) to make the interaction with the ESP server easier to setup

Traditionally, a new trial instance could be requested through our SAS Event Stream Processing page (www.sas.com/esp) clicking the ‘Get Free Trial’ button located on the upper-right corner of the page. Now we are adding the access to our trial from Azure Marketplace providing another option to start the process of requesting a trial instance. In addition, the Azure Marketplace entry also provides links to supporting videos and other useful documentation.

The Azure Marketplace entry for the ESP trial can be reached on the URL:

https://azuremarketplace.microsoft.com/en-us/marketplace/apps/sas-institute-560503.sas_esp_trial?tab...

You can also go to the main page of the Azure Marketplace ( https://azuremarketplace.microsoft.com/en-us ) }and search for SAS. You should see the tile for SAS Event Stream Processing Trial in the search results.

No matter what entry point you used to request a trial, after selecting the ESP trial you will be guided through the process of creating a profile that will provide you a link to your trial environment instance. This link will be available for 30 days initially but could be extended for 15 additional days using the trial environment initial page.

Give it a try! I would love to hear from you about your experiences in using it.

Interesting.  Thank you for making this available.
