Good morning,

I want to know if there is a way to create filters within a report body (i.e. NOT a page or report prompt) so that the filters are only shown above the visuals that are actually impacted by said filter.  

If I want the career cluster filter to affect the visuals I currently have to set the page up like this:

However, I only want to show the filter above the visuals it will actually impact.

It sounds like what you need is an object-level filter. You can place those drop-down controls anywhere on the canvas, just as you do any object. You can then use the Actions pane to link each drop-down to a specific object.
