Denodo is a data virtualization tool capable of building intricate and efficient data structures connecting disparate data sources. Data virtualization is critical in enterprise environments due to the wide variety of data sources a large organization would possess.
Our organization has recently implemented Denodo, but we are experiencing significant compatibility issues with our SAS 9.4 infrastructure as we are reliant on the generic SAS/ACCESS Interface to JDBC. In troubleshooting sessions with Tech Support, we have resolved one issue only to encounter another, over and over again. It has become clear that the source of these incompatibilities stem from the generic JDBC connector. An ACCESS engine specifically designed to communicate with Denodo would provide a true solution to our technical issues and frustrations. We hope that this connector would be compatible with SAS products including SAS 9.4, SAS Viya 3.5, and newer products.

Data Driven Content objects are not only used for visualizing data. They are also the key to innovative ways to select/subset what data to display in the report. (For example the TreeSelector). Therefore it would be very useful if DDC objects could be used exactly as Control object, including being put in the reports controls area and the page controls area of the report.
Implementing this would really be a game changer for us.

EG should update the program icon (highlighted below) at the same time the process flow program icon is updated. Using example in screen shot, blue circle should changed to a red X at the same time the process flow program icon changes. The Log Summary is also not updated while a program is running. Both features are incredibly helpful due to the notification of errors/warnings prior to completion, and were present in EG 7.

There have been quite a few spam questions over the past few months where it took sometimes days until they got removed.
Proposal
Implement an automated process that moves questions from the visible list to some hidden queue for investigation if marked by multiple users an inappropriate content.
To avoid that this process can get misused: Only include users that marked the question if they are not New Users but already on a certain level (to exclude fake users).
And just thinking:
Eventually request from New Users for their first few post some additional identification step when posting a question to make it a bit harder to automate posting such questions.

Sometimes when a SAS program fails you only want to run from the failing point, it would be nice if there was the functionality in SAS EG to run from where the cursor is to the end of the program. At the moment you have to select the bottom half of the code which is a bit of a faff in a big program.

Using Windows Authentication to SQL Server from SAS is a very popular authentication mechanism and it is not possible using CDE with Remote Data Agent. Please consider adding this useful feature. It is important for customers migrating from on-prem to cloud deployments.

HPSplit is in Base SAS/STAT as a standard offering. Random forests are a staple of predictive modeling. Move HP Forest out of SAS Enterprise Miner and put it in the SAS/STAT product. Random forests are 20 years old now, it is nowhere near a novel technique.
There are other packages that need moving over but this one is a no-brainer, at least to me.

In large enterprise organizations, it would be beneficial to be able to hide, or make visible, folders from the SAS server files that are mounted from the Studio Explorer pane based on the groups the users are in. See Case: CS0115567 for the original support question and example.

I have two ideas for SAS Visual Analytics "Distribute reports" feature. Ability to change the font (or any images) in the email that is sent with the distribution, and Ability to copy a list of recipient emails especially the feature will be useful if it is a large list of emails Thanks

The SAS EG editor, where I spend most of my day, could be much improved. I'd like to make the following suggestions to make my work easier and more efficient: When opening a file in SAS EG, it doesn't use a standard Windows file open dialog box. Instead, you must first select from Recent, My Computer, Servers, etc. If you select My Computer or Servers, you then need to select the folder. It should just open to the last accessed folder with one click. Making all of these selections every time is annoying and unproductive. Because it does not use a standard Windows file dialog, the folder of the file you are editing is not displayed, but it should be. Since you have the ability to open local or remote files, it would be very helpful if you had a window similar to WinSCP, enabling easy file transfer between your local machine and a server. In the log window, clicking on Errors, Warnings, or Notes does not correctly subset the list below to display Errors, Warnings, or Notes. Block copy (Alt + left mouse button + drag) does not work correctly (as it does in Notepad++). You can't create a block past the end of a line - you need to insert spaces first, or you will have a jagged left edge to your selection. SAS should automatically insert spaces to match the width of the selection or the line above. You can't select a vertical line and begin inserting characters. If you want to insert a vertical block of text, you need to insert it one row at a time manually. This functionality is very easy in most editors and would save me a lot of time. When performing a replace in a selection of text, the replace dialog should stay open and the selection stay selected so that you can make another replacement without having to re-select the text. It would be nice if you could easily flag a row by clicking in the left margin, similar to what you can do in Notepad++, so that you can easily find that row again after scrolling up or down. It would be helpful to have a count of the number of rows selected at the bottom of the screen, like in Excel, so that you can easily count code lists and the like.

Hello!
I would suggest to integrate a file diff functionality in EG. Currently EG relies on external tools that need to be configured ... this is fine... but in certain companys it is just wimmering and wineing you hear when you ask for some 3rd party software.
So something simple that ships with EG would be just great! 🙂
Cheers

I've noticed that when i import a DI job that uses either a SQL execute or a user written code transform. The user written code that is imported to VIYA is on a single line and you must scroll to the right to see the code. It would be useful to either auto format the code upon import or provide a auto-format button. At the moment my work around is to copy the single line of code and then create a new .sas program, paste the code in and then auto-format. I then have to paste my code back into the node within the swinlane and then save. On the screen shot below, my original code has 100s of lines of code however it is imported onto a single line.
The .spk is a DI job. We are on a 9.4 m6 AIX 7.1 deployment... not sure if this is anything to do with the operating system.

Hi! I'm using SAS EG 8.3. I have searched about pinned items display management, but I cant seem to find a way to personnalize the items order. Would it be possible to add a function to manage the display order of pinned items on the start page? If it does already exist, please tell me how! Thank you! 🙂

Change default behaviors to "automatically overwrite" if that's what most users want, but some of us got a lot of use out of this option.

Create a custom shortcut in Enterprise Guide 8.4 to "Send to Microsoft Excel"? You have to go to "Share"...Output Data... Send to Microsoft Excel. It would be nice to just use a shortcut or create a custom button to do this.

There should be an option to visualize data from two different tables into a single plot without having the need to join those tables. It should work by just mapping the connection between the two table. Why not join? Because join may create issues if the data is at a different hierarchy/ granularity level.

As discussed with the customer, the user need to add/edit some information related to the closed alert. Anyway, in SAS AML8.3 the system does not allowed user to edit the comment of closed alert.
Please help to consider to add the function of 'add/edit comment to alert after the alert is closed' into SAS AML8.3
Thanks!

It would be nice to be able to copy text from an individual cell in the list table. This is possible in a crosstab but it would be nice to mimic the excel function of copying from a regular table/cell for the list table.

We're using SAS 3.5 VIYA; user's account account are from our company LDAP. When a user connect to our SAS, due to LDAP specificity, the account domain may be lower case our upper case (depending from connection method) This is currently not handled by SAS: some functions are case sensitive, some other case insensitive. We suggest than adding a configuration to manage this. More details : case CS0064251
