Thank you for the answer. I did not know SAS evaluate AND first then OR. Why I need to putthis %before (?...I dont use these porcentages before ( as my option a of my post, and the macro works right. Thanks.

Hi guys, I would like you to help me with this: I got the next dataset: text drug placebo randomized 100 101 treated 100 100 completed 90 85 discontinued 10 16 I would like to built this dataset: test drug placebo randomized 100 101 treated 100 (100/100) 100(101/100) completed 90 (90/100) 85(85/101) discontinued 10(10/100) 16(16/101) As you can see, my idea is to keep the first record of the dataset, 100 and 101 and assigned a variable to these as r1=100 and r2=101, then write down something like: drug=drug||' ' || (drug/r1); placebo=placebo||''||(placebo/r2) I know is very simplistic, for thsi reason I would like you to help me to write a piece of code maybe using call symput or symget to create the macrovariables r1 and r2,, or maybe usinf the retain option to keep the first record. is a tot file, i.e a macro with a default expression: %str()...and i ned to put the condition a) or b) , i am not sure........ inside of this braket..like %str(condition)...only i can change condition, anyone else.

i suppose to prevent the resolution of & or a semicolon (;) if i need to. Hi guys, i am trying to run a code under a client with his own macros. The problem is when I go to proc report and change the ls parameter (linesize) in the code, the pagination of the report is changed: before my modification of the code (client) (ls=default)....the list of the report is fine page=p1 after my modification ls=225 (I extend it becasue i need to add more columns in my list) the page appear with different format, as page=p 1. assuming that I can access to these macros, and assuming that only can touch the options of proc report, any help to fix that p 1 to p1. cheers, J.

Hello everyone, Using viewtable I can view all the unique values that exist in a column , i.e subjid using the option where lookup distinct values...there some way to do it with fsview... maybe aplying some formula using sort nodupkey... thanks in advance.

Thanks art297, in thre days of exploring it, viewtable and fsview: It looks like that you can get everything using both procedures, not only one. For example: column description (format/informat) of variables and switch between column labels/column names only is posssible with viewtable. and : point out the number of observation you are interested of, for example selected the record 3456, in a dataset of 60000 observations, is only possible with fsview. Anyway, thanks for your help. I got all the necesssary information that I need to know. to be honest, i am going to use fsview, looks like more powerful and flexible. J.
