hello experts, I need a help to solve a query. I have a dataset and column called NAME but this column Name has some kind of encoding data like . I want to check which row has encoding data of ASC value which is falling between 161 to 255. Suppose if you below code and data , so it should check each observation each string and identify the each string ASC value and if any ASC value in observation is falling between 161 to 255, then a new column RANK_VALUE should give result of ASC Value, if no value from 161 to 255, then null should pass. data test; input name $32.; datalines; RÃm John èra ©kumara ¶cris ; run; output : Name Rank_value RÃm 195 John èra 232 ©kumara 169 ¶cris 182

Hello expert, I have a CSV File with PIPE (|) delimiter. If you see below screenshot, I need to handle 7th column data which is going to next 4 lines till next delimiter (|). lets assume I have 7th variable name (value) data is starting from marked dark blue color till next 4 lines. It is reading wrong, every next line data is appearing to next column. so data is showing wrong. How to handle this situation, can any body help me on same. Note - I have already set enough length of column. "Zeer goed draaiend kantoor waar de produktie de laatste maanden fors is gestegen. Heeft ondertussen een zilveren statuut , Naviga- Mauretus is in volle expansie en zal weldra tot de top drie gaan behoren. " thanks in advance .

Hi Reeza - I am getting same kind of error. I ahve a pipe symbol, and a middle column reocords is going continue till 3 last line. so every line it is reading as quot " ". Please tell me how to fix it,

hello ALl, I am looking for a soluition . I am reading a pipe seperator csv file. for one column data is going to 2nd line and adn 3rd line as well. and in the 4th line next PIPE (|) seperator is there to divide other column data. Please tell me how can I read, in below example for city column I want to read data start from london to china untill it is not getting next pipe symbol. example : name|id|city|date john|123|london sweden - germeny - india pakistan china |26jul2017

If I have thousand value, then this will be more Hard code values by using proc format. Is it poosible by doing macro.? when it will check the col1 and varible name and assign the value in to col2.
