I have an output table that has Company Codes (Rows) and data (Currency) in a column. I want to be able to show in the Summary Report the Currency column in Descending or Ascending order without using re-coding as an option. Any ideas? Bill

I finally got the join to work and successfully output a joined data set. I just used two fields that associated in both tables. Not sure why the other fields I used didn't work. Any clues and thanks for your quick response.

I have two tables that I have joined and have attempted to run a query. It's an Inner-Join with two similar fields joined. Each time I run it it fails. Any suggestions?

Jaap; Very good response. Basically what I am doing now is trying to do most, if not all the data creation and some analysis in E.G. Also, I'm accessing the data sets created in the Office Analytics add-in to do further analysis and reporting and then providing reports to managers. My concern was to be able to: 1. Organize projects and related datasets so that the datasets can be used in concert with Office Analytics. 2. Get the data sets registered so that they are visible and easily accessed. Great responses from both of you Jaap & ballardw. Our Admin is not trained completly in SAS and therefore I'm relying on people like you to provide guidance. One more question, when I create data sets, should I register them as Metat Data to make it easier to work with in the Office Analytics add-in?

I currently have one library and as I create datasets it's getting pretty long. Is there a protocol or standard for the creation of Libraries. I need to find a way to easily distinguish specific data sets per project so I can use them. Thanks for any suggestions.

Thanks Jaap, Here's my dilema. I am the only user/analyst for EG & Office Analytics and frequency run queries on a 90 million record table in the Library that output smaller subsets that are not registered into Meta Data in the Library. Yesterday, I created three small list to use for Prompts that I could not access when trying to create the Prompts unless they were registered in Meta Data under the Library. This is one example. This being the case, our Admin would also like to know if there is some configuration to the SAS platform that would allow the data that I need as Meta Data to be automatically registerd as such? Thanks again for your help.

Jaap; We are "newbies" to EG and I have an Admin who is just getting acquainted to E.G. from the Admin role. Are you saying that the Admin should register the data I create as Meta data upon my request or are you saying I can register in myself in E.G? My role is that of the data creator and analyst. So from mys perspective, just about all the data I create is going to be Meta data. Can you elaborate re above? Thanks Jaap, I really appreciate your guidance. Bill

I have a data table that I queried and developed prompts. One prompt is a Date prompt that ask for a beginning date and ending date. The date format in the field I'm prompting is mm/yyyy (04/2013). I formatted the Prompt as "Date Range" "Day" Type. In the Query filter the Date Prompt is "Range". When I run the prompts, it totally ignores the beginning and ending dates in the date range. Any ideas?

Reeza; Here are the steps I followed: 1> Opened Excel and Selected the SAS menu item at the top of the menu bar. 2> I selected the data set. 3> I selected the Import to Pivot table. 4> The data was imported into Excel. 5> I selected the dat field and a. First tried formatting as a Date type. Then tried Grouping as Month. The only thing I saw was a dialog box with four digit numberss. b. Second tried formatting as Character. No luck either way.

Reeza; Per what your previously sent (See below) " Basically Excel is seeing a SAS number, which is a date. You need to change the date to a format that excel will understand. So, you can try converting the date to a character field that looks like a date that Excel might read as a date". I changed the date format in the Excel output to text.
