I think that is all correct. If you click on the SAS Code node, then click on the ellipsis button for Exported Data from the Properties panel, you can see from there whether your variable is being picked up correctly. Click on the row for TRAIN, then the Properties... button. On the Variables tab, you should see your new variable listed as a Target. I'm guessing it's the case that the Text Parsing node only displays variables with a particular role, but not sure why you wouldn't see it for Decision Tree. Anyway, confirming that it shows up here is the first step.

Yes, for sure. Use a LIBNAME statement to specify where you want to write the SAS dataset. You can give the dataset any name you wish as long as it conforms to SAS naming conventions. For example, this would write a dataset (you specify the name) to the path associated with the myplace library. libname myplace 'your_path_goes_here'; Data myplace.dataset_name_you_choose_goes_here; Infile "C:\Users\test.txt" DLM='|' DSD LRECL=400 FIRSTOBS=2; Input ID Age Sex $ Income Race $ Hight Weight; run;

ODS SELECT NONE and a proc transpose on your output. Also, you haven't specified the data set in your OUTPUT statement which is a bit odd. proc sort data=sashelp.cars out=cars; by origin; ods select none; proc univariate data = cars; by origin; var mpg_highway; output out=want pctlpre = P_ pctlpts = 1, 5 to 95 by 5, 9, 100; run; ods select all; proc transpose data=want out=want2; id origin; run; proc print data=want2; run;

Thank you very much. I am still very new to all of this. It seems a little counterintuitive to not have a feature of referencing files within the same project. But I especially like the suggestions you provided.

It did not get too complicated when following that scope logic. It was not well documented in the old versions, recently seen this. SAS(R) 9.4 Macro Language: Reference, Third Edition %SYSRPUT Statement - Example: Checking the Value of a Return Code on a Remote Host That rsubmit/endrsubmit is now easilty to see as part of a grand macro process. Those rsubmit / endrsubmit can be made conditional so the code can run balanced remote or as whole local. Using the %syslput %sysrput for synching macrovars and not the %let or %put (global ones) as those are timed wrong. Getting compiled local where the intention was being run remote. When embedded in that remote macro there is no scope issue anymore. Also you cannot get hurt what you would see as broken tokens. some things with quoting cahllenges still remains.

I don't think there's a way to do this with code. The process flow is really an EG thing, not a SAS thing. For example, assume you have EG on your desktop, attaching to a SAS server. The SAS server doesn't tell EG to add icons for datasets to your process flow. Instead, EG monitors (I assume) the datasets that are created during the SAS session, and decides whether or not to add icons to the process flow. Since it's an EG decision, I think the EG option is your best way to control it. Since I'm not a fan of datasets in my process flows, I generally set the option to 0.

You will notice the biggest difference between Transform and HP Transform if you have a grid setup. If you have EM licensed for a grid environment, you should use HP nodes only as regular nodes do not handle all your data set. You can mix and match HP and non HP nodes but it gets tricky at some point. If you are just running on one machine or server, HP Transform takes advantage of all the cores in your machine. So there is an advantage of using it! Summarizing, HP Transform has better performance over Transform node. If you are in a grid environment, do your best to stick to only HP nodes!

This method does not account for ties. If you have no ties or don't care you can more easily calculate your 'percentiles' using a data step.
