Title/header trouble in an Excel sheet

Hello, I am trying to use ODS to create a formatted table in Excel via SAS. I'm actually most of the way there, but I was hoping to get help with a few more steps I'd like to take to perfect it. My questions are: 1. Is there a way to eliminate the blank row automatically created between the title and the column headers? 2. Why isn't my Team column header centered (see code below)? 3. Is there a way to do a middle alignment in Excel via SAS (ie, have my text vertically centered in the Excel cell)? Thanks! I'm still mourning the loss of my beloved show as well...and I've yet to find an ongoing show that I feel lives up to the same quality (although I hear good things about Orphan Black). In terms of older shows, 4400 is a must and Battlestar Galactica has similarly cool plot twists even though it's much more depressing. ... View more

Hi all, I'm trying to open a dataset in SAS Enterprise Guide from ODBC using the following code: PROC SQL; CONNECT TO ODBC(DSN='database_name'); CREATE TABLE newtablename AS SELECT * FROM CONNECTION TO ODBC(SELECT * FROM connectingtablename); quit; I get an error message that the ODBC connection cannot be found. This is weird because I can manually import databases from ODBC using File>Open>ODBC and selecting the table I need. However, I then don't know how to call the dataset (which is in my Process Flow). Either a solution to the coding problem or a way to call my dataset from the Process Flow (or both!) would be very helpful. Thanks! ... View more

Hi, Basically, I am trying to create 10 new variables from 10 old variables, where each of the ten new variables will be (old variable name)cat and have the same values as one another. I thought the easiest way would be to develop a macro like this: %macro new(old); data gym; set in_r.gym; if &old=1 then &old.cat='Once per month'; if &old=2 then &old.cat='2-3 times per month'; ...etc. %mend new; %new(treadmill); %new(steps); %new(run); etc. The macro runs fine but then when I look at the final dataset, the new variables are no longer a part of it. Hello, I have created a multiple logistic regression model and am trying to look at the residuals. I'd like SAS to ignore the missing values instead of deleting a participant for having a missing value for a predictive variable. I've lost about 20% of my participants in the analysis because they  have missing values for some (non-outcome) variable. ... View more

Hello, I am trying to create tables for each of my demographic variables along with whether a person is a case or a control. This is what I have: %local varlist; %let varlist=age race sex etc; proc freq data=my_data; tables &varlist; tables case*&varlist/chisq; run; Case indicates whether someone is a case or a control. The individual tables printed fine, and a table showing age by case/control status, but then the program stopped incorporating case/control status and just reprinted the overall frequencies for race, sex, etc. Any help is much appreciated! ...
