SAS9.4 product specific configuration for SAS/ACCESS

Hi, I have installed and configured SAS9.4 on AIX machine through SAS deployment manager. Now I need to do product specific configuration for SAS/ACCESS interface to Oracle, DB2, MS SQL and PC files. For this I have installed oracle client on the same machine and let me know if i need to install DB2 & MS SQL as well? As per earlier knowledge I checked/tried configuring using SASSETUP utility which is in SASFoundation but there i'm not getting various options to perform product specific configuration and having only renew SAS software option. Also i checked using deployment manager under administrator tasks and options are not coming to configure SAS/ACCESS. I'm not sure if its different in SAS9.4 and how it works.So can some one please help me in configuring the SAS/ACCESS components. Thanks in advance, Regards Maheswara Reddy Talla ... View more

Hi all, I'm able to find the solution and completed configuration part as per below. Hope this will help for some one. 1) I have recovered the metadata server on compute tier to the initial stage to the point before I started Mid-tier server configuration. 2) Restarted the Comput server. 3) Deleted the existing config/Lev1 directory on Mid-tier and 4) restarted configuration part from starting. ... in 9.2 on unix what you are telling is correct. but in 9.4 i cann't see any remote services running currently. in 9.4 web services are dependent on cache locator and i can see its running and up. ... View more

Hi,  I'm installing and configuring SAS 9.4 on mid-tier server. I already installed all components and now doing configuration process. I'm getting error as below screen shot during stage 11:Start Web applications and not able to continue with configuration of SAS Web application server and error says that Application server has started, however web applications with following context failed to start. Hi I have one requirement where i need to concatanate values based on existance/presence of value in the column. For example I have 5 columns and data as below tel_1     tel_2      tel_3     tel_4     tel_5 24          30           40      50           60 55                        32      89           90                 45                                 60 If all values are there then i can directly concatanate as below for rec 1 temp_var= t01||tel_1||t02||tel_2||t03|tel_3 etc but if there are no values in between as per rec 2 & rec3 temp_var=t01||tel_1||t02||tel_3 similarly for rec3 temp_var=t01||tel_02||t02||tel_5 here first hardcode values(t01, t02, t03..) should be in accending order irrespective of column values. Hi, I have few doubts and need clarifications on SAS software licensing. We have SAS software and licenses and it's planned deployment designed as packages and based on Roles as well. 1) How will we know the no of licences allocated for the client/server m/cs and for how may users and how to check no of used ones. 2) Is there any restriction on client installations? 3) Suppose I've installed Stand-a-lone s/w like E-guide/JMP on one m/c for one user/client then later same user wants the installation of some package which consists of(E-Guide+E-Miner+Text miner). Now how will the licences gets counted. 4) If I uninstall the s/w or product will it automatically deallocates the licences? Please clarify on above points and let me know in detailed if any. Hi Cynthia, In continuation to earlier communication, I have similar kind of requirement as below but little change..hope you can help on this. I have consumers name field with character length 80. that i have splited in to multiple columns based on spaces..and now i have got around 15 columns after spliting. now, my requirement is I need to fit all the 15 columns(that were created above with different lengths) values in to 5 output columns of length 26 each.Can you please suggest and let me know if you need more inputs. Hi, i'm working on DMS and creating webservice by two simple nodes (external data provider and sql lookup) and testing it. while testing i'm giving Name i/p field and providing name for ex as "MIKE" then its fetching exact match records from the table i,e all recs having MIKE only...but my requirement is to get all records sounds like MIKE...ie not exact but all matches. how to process incremental data in DMS

Hi, we are working deduplication process, where in we have processed total bulk data and created cluster table in which it creates unique group of cluster id's. next time we are getting incremental data which may contain existing records as well as new records, now if we run same process it will be creating same set of clusterids which will be simialr to earlier. how to join this clusters. is that we need to process whole data  (inclding incremental)all the time? or is there any way how to process incremental data? also we are facing performqnce issue, we are fetching 10 million recs, processing match code clustering and inserting to database table, which is taking mor ethan 4 days. pleas e sugest on this. thanks in advance ...
