Hi,   It appears you are trying to specify date constants via the use of functions; the in operator documentation specifies:   constant is a number or a quoted character string (or other special notation) that indicates a fixed value. Hi,   I agree with everything that has already been said. If the log does not show any errors, warnings, etc. then this might be an issue of data, so ensure the data you expect to be there is actually there. Is this your first attempt to create the models or have you created them before? If you have created them before then ask yourself if there have been any recent changes to code, data, setup, etc.   Remember we cannot see your code, data, setup, requirements, restrictions, software, business / logic rules, desired results, etc., so what might be obvious to you might not be obvious to others. Hi,   The "white space" highlighted by @Tom could be down to editor settings which optionally allow the tab character to be replaced by space characters. So if another developer uses the tab character and your editor settings replace them with spaces, then this could be the source of the highlighted differences. For example, you have not shown us any error message you receive so considering sharing a log (using the Insert Code icon "</>") that shows how the macro assignments are being used and what errors / warnings this brings.   The values assigned to macro variables wtcalc2 and 3 have unbalanced brackets, so this might be the root cause of your issues.   I ran the following code:   %let wtcalc1= abs(a/b-1)*weight; %let wtcalc2=(abs(a/b+c*0.2)*weight; %let wtcalc3=(abs(a/b+c*0.4)*weight; %put &=wtcalc1; %put &=wtcalc2; %put &=wtcalc3;   which gave the following log, with no issues:   72 %let wtcalc1= abs(a/b-1)*weight; 73 %let wtcalc2=(abs(a/b+c*0.2)*weight; 74 %let wtcalc3=(abs(a/b+c*0.4)*weight; 75 76 %put &=wtcalc1; WTCALC1=abs(a/b-1)*weight 77 %put &=wtcalc2; WTCALC2=(abs(a/b+c*0.2)*weight 78 %put &=wtcalc3; WTCALC3=(abs(a/b+c*0.4)*weight   Please try fixing the brackets, and if that doesn't work then share a log showing your code with the error / warning messages and separately explain what result you do want.     Thanks & kind regards, Amir. ... Hi _all_,   Reading all the posts about what the "<>" operator means, it did bring about memories for me where I did use it to mean not-equal-to in data step code.   Checking the documentation, I did find a page about operators with a section on MIN and MAX Operators that includes a table where the 2nd foot note says 'In a WHERE expression, the symbol representation <> is interpreted as “not equal to”.'   So, for example, the following code:   data want1; set sashelp.class; where age <> 15; run;   yields the following log:   73 data want1; 74 set sashelp.class; 75 76 where age <> 15; NOTE: The "<>" operator is interpreted as "not equals". 77 run; NOTE: There were 15 observations read from the data set SASHELP.CLASS. WHERE age not = 15; NOTE: The data set WORK.WANT1 has 15 observations and 5 variables.   The "NOTE:" about the "<>" operator clarifies how it is being interpreted; I don't recall it ever misinterpreting my intention, but ymmv. The 2nd "NOTE:" helpfully spells out "WHERE age not = 15", as per usual SAS behaviour.   Comparing character data is no different, e.g.:   data want2; set sashelp.class; where name <>: 'J'; run;    has the following log:   71 data want2; 72 set sashelp.class; 73 74 where name <>: 'J'; NOTE: The "<>" operator is interpreted as "not equals". 75 run; NOTE: There were 12 observations read from the data set SASHELP.CLASS. WHERE name not =: 'J'; NOTE: The data set WORK.WANT2 has 12 observations and 5 variables.   Lastly, both meanings can appear in the same data step:   data want3; set sashelp.class; where name <>: 'J'; weight2 = weight <> 100; run;   gives:   71 data want3; 72 set sashelp.class; 73 74 where name <>: 'J'; NOTE: The "<>" operator is interpreted as "not equals". 75 76 weight2 = weight <> 100; NOTE: The "<>" operator is interpreted as "MAX". 77 run; NOTE: There were 12 observations read from the data set SASHELP.CLASS. Hi,   I don't recall ever experiencing this symptom on a regular basis.   A few questions:   You mention "pasting onto program editor", in that case is the program editor also the source from which you cut? Does this occur for any of your colleagues if they try it? If not, then try comparing settings preferences, etc. Does it also happen for copy (not cut) & pasting - and maybe worth trying dragging and dropping, if convenient? Hi,   In a nutshell, what @Kurt_Bremser has said tells you what you need to know.   If you are still having problems then please post the full log of your code including the library assignment (assuming it is not external to SAS, e.g., in JCL) and include any messages - especially errors. When posting the log, please use the Insert Code icon "</>".   Also, check the spelling of your library name - there might be a typo when allocating it or when referencing it.   The general idea of providing context (e.g., a log) would be true for virtually any issue that is being questioned on this forum.   Edit: The subject mentions "Errors", i.e., plural, so have you received multiple errors, in which case the error could be earlier in the code which has had a knock on effect to cause later errors, including the one you've reported?     Thanks & kind regards, Amir. ... Please respond explaining what the logical rules are for bringing the two data sets together.   For example, RRE is in data set A once and 3 times in data set B then 4 times in the output; is this 1 from A and 3 from B? Also, AAA appears twice in data set A and three times in data set B then 3 times in the output; is this only from B?   Lastly, your question says "Data B does NOT have the OTHER ...", but there are 3 OTHER records in B.
