Thanks @doug_sas and @kdebruhl for your valuable inputs, unfortunately owing to client security policies we do not have a direct access to the SAS environment and receive only the LSF files for analysis. Have finally managed to decrypt the date time in a user readable format by using the below Linux command date -u -d @dateinteger (present in the LSF file)

Hello Experts, I am trying to reach the lsb.events log and lsb.acct log to understand the information being written into it so that I can use an automated script to extract the information. I have referred the online documentation against both these log files: https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSWRJV_10.1.0/lsf_config_ref/lsb.acct.5.html I am trying to understand where does LSF store the date value in the record. I am able to identify the timestamp but not the date. You will need to install the CLI on the SAS compute node and then initialize the AWS config post which using the normal PUT and GET statements of AWS you can upload and download the objects from the bucket/s.

Basis investigation found that S3 uses AES encryption which is only supported from SAS 9.4M6. Got it vetted from SAS Technical Support as well. Given that we are using SAS 9.4M4 there are possible 2 options only: 1. Use AWS CLI for data upload and download from S3 and then leverage it in SAS. 2. Upgrade to SAS 9.4M6 Hope this helps anyone else facing similar issue.

Its the same thing, whether you mention a file or just the bucket. Additionally, we have tried the PUT and GET options as well same error message is being received.

Hello Experts, I have a cloud based SAS 9.4M4 environment and have deployed SAS on RHEL OS. We are trying to connect to S3 bucket from SAS using Proc S3. AWS CLI has been installed and tested from the server and it is working absolutely fine however while trying to use the Proc S3 code I get the below error message. This error arises whether I use any of the functions i.e. LIST, PUT or GET etc. ERROR: Could not list bucket contents. ERROR: Encryption run-time execution error Thanks in advance for your help. Hello Experts, I have a single machine SAS Viya 3.4, SAS ESP 5.2 deployed environment being hosted on Linux OS. As a part of connectivity setup between ESP with Postgres DB using ODBC driver, I have configured the odbc.ini file as attached. Before proceeding ahead with the ESP - Postgres configuration, I tried validating the same using isql test. Unfortunately the isql test failed stating that the IP of the server mentioned in the odbc.ini is not present in pg_hba.conf Tried adding the IP in the conf file however keep receiving the same error message further the entry gets reverted back in case of a service restart. Have tried putting localhost, IP of server, actual hostname of server in the odbc.ini file but no success. Can someone please help with this.

Hi, This indicates that it is a code error and needs to be checked from that point of view. The validate option available in Scenario Admin is not actually performing this optimally. Hope this helps.

@ChandanKSAS I suppose there has been some accidental changes either in Workspace server configuration via SMC (check this link for IOM bridges -- https://support.sas.com/rnd/itech/doc9/admin_oma/sasserver/iombridge/index.html) you can try to compare it with your production environment for similarity purpose. The test via X-windows is important to validate to rule out any firewall/network level issues against the port using Workspace server. While this is just a test and would not be as good as the X-windows, worth checking via the telnet command against the port to ensure there is no lag. Additionally you can: Ask tracing to be performed by your OS and Network team while you try to validate the Workspace. Enable detailed logging on the workspace server and see what is getting captured. These would help get more clarity.

Have you defined the ODBCHOME, ODBCINI and ODBCINST path as well LD_LIBRARY_PATH. The best validation is to verify whether the isql test works fine, then the connectivity from your compute machine and database is not correct, this would rule out issue in SAS. If the isql test works then you need to look at the configuration setup for database. Also there are different libname options to connect to db using odbc (apart from dsn), have you tried those, does any of those work? Worth trying the above before we can look at other possibilities.

Have you recently performed any configuration changes post which this is occurring or is this a new installation and the issue has begun? Assuming that host entries have been setup properly or globally defined correctly. If not worth doing that first. Further, is this limited to just workspace validation or is it related to other IOM Servers i.e. PWS and SP as well? If this is a Linux deployment, can you try launching SMC via the Linux terminal using X Windows and check the validation. If this is a windows deployment, try launching SMC via the windows machine where Metadata/Compute servers have been deployed and validate workspace server. This will help you understand if there is a proxy issue or something at the network level which could be causing this.

My initial understanding is that you need to define the ODBCINI and ODBCINST path as well apart from that ensure that you LD_LIBRARY_PATH has everything covered. The best validation is to verify whether the isql test works fine, in case that fails then you need to understand whether there is some firewall issue, if the isql test works fine then you are confined to just the SAS configuration. Worth trying the above two before we can look at other possibilities. Regards, Ankit

Hello Experts, Reaching out to you for your expert advice. Scenario: # Collect CPU and Memory utilization against each program/code executed by the user in SAS. # The output should provide user-id, cpu utilization, memory utilization date-time and program name/process details that showcases in the backend. Additionally if I can get duration as well that would be a bonus. # Plan is to have it continuously running on the server so as to collect the stats on daily basis. I would like to understand whether there is a OOTB SAS report/script which can provide me these details. In case there isn't any such report, can someone please be generous of sharing any such script which you would have created to perform the above. Thanks in advance. Regards, Ankit.
