I am preparing a figure and it has title. I do not want to use TITLE statement, because I do not want the text and figure merged together. So I used ods text to output text, like below. I want "company name" is at left, "study" is at center and "Protocol" is at right. However the text can not be adjusted properly. If I used TITLE statement, the text could be very easily adjusted. Can someone help me out? Eigher to adjust the text with ods text, or to use title but to separate the text and figure. Ghosh and Tom, Thank you very much. Yes. For PDF or rtf we do not need to worry about the footnote length. I can put part of footnote into body through compute block in proc report. However, I cooperate with others and their method has limitations and I have to put footnote in footnote statement and output as lst file first. At beginning, I thought maybe we have options to set footnote output in listing and let footnote turn over if it is too long, like RTF or PDF. I guess we have no that option for listing currently. Thank you for your suggestion. For some reason, we will transfer listing output as PDF in the next step. So we can not output HTML and we have to set LS around 135 in order to fit PDF output.

Hello, I have a footnote question. In my real listing report I have over 10 footnotes, so I tried to concatenate some footnotes together then output. But some concatenated footnote text length is too long, so they are truncated, like the below example. In this example ls=135 and can not be changed, and footnote text length is over 135, so the footnote text "BBBBBBB" was truncated in output. I know, if output is rtf or pdf, we have no this issue. But for listing, I have not figured out a method to deal with it. Can someone help me out? I run the code in the same environment and same session . The only difference is: one is I submitted separately and another is I submitted the code together. I checked the log by adding "proc options option=validvarname; run;" for the first way I got validvarname=any, and for the second way I got validvarname=v7. That is what I felt some strange.

I submit the code separately. Yes, you are right. If I submit together VALIDVARNAME keeping equal to V7. However, when I submit separately, VALIDVARNAME is reset as VALIDVARNAME=ANY.

Thanks. It is strange and easy make errors, if the outputs are differences by running step by step or as a whole. I checked the preference in SAS studio page, and did not find somewhere I can change to remove this issue. What should I do to remove this kind of issue? Should I ask our IT department to reset the environment? Please advise. Thanks

Hello, The below is my code to import excel file with SAS studio. When I run step by step, the output variables had space, like 'Test A', 'Test B' (fig2 below). However, when I run all steps together, the output variables changed into "Test_A", 'Test_B' (fig. 3 below). My question is how I set up my SAS studio or revise my code to get fig.3 output when running the code step by step. Thanks a lot. That is interesting. I should gave a more closer example. Please see below example. This example only have 2 groups (group 1 and 2), but actually we have more groups, so the "System Organ Class ...." column can not be wider. The Yellow marked part is SOC, and gray marked part is PT. The blue circled items have two rows due to the column width is not enough, and I want the two rows indented, not only the first row, so that the output should look better. If output is rft, it is easy to do. But if output is listing, I have not figured out a good method.
