would like to see the system auto create a backup version of the report i bring up for edit.

when i click Save, the system will save the original version first in an archive directory.

the system will keep x number of backups of the report and will suffix the report name with date and time.

since i save and test a report multiple times in the same browser session, the system will auto save the original report once and then if its the same browser session, the system will ask if a new archive version should be created on the next save.

this way when i make a change, click save, test, change, save, test.  only the first save produces an archive of the original.

thanks

There is no auto-save feature in 7.x. However, auto-save was implemented beginning with 8.2. Reports are saved every five seconds. SAS Visual Analytics saves one draft of each report per user. It also saves a draft of a new report that has never been saved. Only the most recent version is saved.
